What is Hair fall PRP?

The PRP in Hair fall PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. Human blood is made of plasma and three components- red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The platelets are rich in growth factors and thus, important for cell regrowth and repairing of damaged cells. Hairfall PRP therapy is a medical treatment for hair loss that aims at repairing the damaged tissue of the scalp and stimulate hair growth by cell reproduction.

    Treatment of Hair fall PRP

    Procedure

The hair fall involves three steps- drawing a person’s blood, processing it and injecting the processed blood into the scalp. This increases blood circulation to the hair follicles which eventually promotes hair growth. One sitting of hair fall PRP therapy takes 25-30 mins to complete.

    • The first step is to collect a blood sample from the patient’s arms and to put it into a centrifuge. A centrifuge is an instrument that separates the blood into its components according to density by spinning at a high speed.
    • After spinning the blood sample for 10 minutes in the centrifuge, it gets divided into two components with platelet-rich-plasma being one component. This component is filled in a syringe.
    • The separated PRP is injected into the bald area of the scalp where the patient wants increased hair growth. After this, it is generally covered with a bandage.
